Did you know that...?
This time my intention was to make a pizza with a thick crust. On February 9th, International Pizza Day was celebrated. For curiosity’s sake, I’ll write that 13 million boxes of this tasty treat are sold worldwide every day. I made a vegetable pizza that I highly recommend. It’s very easy to prepare. I used frozen vegetables on top. Making the dough took me a bit of time, but it was worth waiting for the end result.
Preparation
Mix water, milk, yeast, and sugar in a plastic bowl and set aside to let the starter rise. Sift flour with salt into a separate bowl.
After 15 minutes, pour the starter into the flour. Mix first with a wooden spoon and then by hand. Knead the dough and if necessary, dust it with flour. Knead for about 10 minutes. Leave it in a warm place for 1 hour and cover it with a cloth.
After an hour, knead the dough briefly and shape it into a circle. Place it on a baking sheet and spread with ketchup.
While the dough is rising, prepare the vegetables. Place them in a heated pan, add water and olive oil, season with spices. When the vegetables soften, still warm, spread them on the dough and place it in a preheated oven at 170 degrees. Bake for 30 minutes.
